Obituary of Thomas-J. Lee

Thomas J. Lee, beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather and uncle, left this life gracefully on Thursday, March 1, 2012. He is survived by wife Jeannette; daughter, Susannah; son, Thomas; grandson, Logan; sister, Ruth, and brother, John. Tom led a successful professional life. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., in 1935, he graduated from CCNY with a degree in electrical engineering. He entered the computer field in 1958, working on the completion of the Dataphone and installing computer systems in Western Electric supply warehouses for the Bell System. Later, he ran the Sinclair Oil Data Center in Chicago followed by a position as East Coast administrator for Atlantic Richfield in Philadelphia. He settled his then family of three in northern New Jersey in 1972 to take a position with the Depository Trust Clearing Corporation. He became executive vice president of information systems and retired in 1995. During his 23 years at DTCC, Tom was an integral part in modernizing the transactions of the New York Stock Exchange. Tom's private life was rich with travel to ports around the world and events with family and friends. People fortunate to be in his life cherished him for his loving nature, his generous soul, and, above all, his boundless silliness. He is sorely missed, but his loved ones are comforted that he is resting peacefully. A celebration of Tom's life will be held later in March.
