Morrison1940 - 2014Frank Morrison, 73, of Pensacola, Florida, passed away Saturday, January 25, 2014 at his home surrounded by family. Frank was born on July 13, 1940 in Luverne, Alabama and joined the Navy in November, 1960.On March 2, 1965, he married former Etsuko Tashiro while being stationed in Japan. Frank was a Senior Chief in the U.S. Navy and a proud veteran of 31 years. He loved to travel and was fortunate to have set foot on every continent during his career traveling by submarine or aircraft carriers.He also took pleasure opening his home to hundreds of sailors while they were away from their own homes during the holidays to thank them for their service and to ensure they felt surrounded by the best family, the Navy.He was a Past President and member of the American Legion.He enjoyed playing pinball, softball, darts, billiards and bowling. He enjoyed sports and was an avid FSU football fan and an Atlanta Braves baseball fan.Frank is survived by his wife Etsuko of 48 years; daughter Tina Carey and her husband, Tim; as well as granddaughter Angel Morrison, whom he adored.Frank was a loving father, husband, grandfather and friend to all. He lived life with a "happy go lucky" sense about him with great "sea" stories to tell. Fair winds and following seas shipmate!A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 7, 2014 at Barrancas National Cemetery on NAS Pensacola. Chaplain Gibson will be officiating.
