Thomas E. Flanagan, 77, of Muscle Shoals died Sunday, Aug. 10, 2003. Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. today at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia.The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home chapel, with burial in Colbert Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Charlie James and the Rev. Jeremy Goss will officiate.Mr. Flanagan was a native of Tishomingo, Miss., but lived most of his life in Colbert County. He was a member of United Steel Workers Local 200 and Woodmen of the World. He retired after 38 years of employment with Reynolds Alloys.Mr. Flanagan was preceded in death by his son, William Thomas Flanagan; his parents, Roland and Mary Flanagan; and nine siblings.Survivors include his wife, Julia A. Flanagan of Muscle Shoals; sons, Steve Flanagan of Tuscumbia, Gene Flanagan and wife, Julia, of Town Creek, Thad Flanagan and wife, Sharon, of Muscle Shoals, and Lawrence Flanagan and wife, Jan, of Lexington; daughters, Mary Willis and husband, Bobby, of Muscle Shoals, Anna Prince and husband, George, of Florence; brother, Tulon Flanagan of Dennis, Miss.; sisters, Elizabeth Durham of Iuka, Miss., Willie Mae Dooley of Iuka, Miss., and Lucille Thompkins of Winfield; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.Pallbearers will be John Flanagan, Doyle Flanagan, Wayne Flanagan, Clinton Flanagan, Wayne Evans and Floyd Patterson.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Hospital or Shoals Area Special Olympics.Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia, is directing.
