LEE Thomas D. Lee, Jr., 85, departed into the loving arms of his Savior on September 7, 2009. The son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas D. Lee, Sr. of Jacksonville, Tommy was born in Forest Park, Georgia, on December 5, 1923. He graduated from Robert E. Lee High School and attended Carson Newman College and Stetson University. After serving his county in the Navy during WW II he returned home to run his family's business, Lee & Cates Glass, Inc. After a successful career, he retired at the age of 80 after serving as President and Chairman of the Board of the company. Tommy was also an active member of Southside Baptist Church for more than 50 years, leading by example as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, and choir member. Tommy served on the board of the Baptist Towers, the Florida Baptist Foundation, the Florida Baptist Credit Union, and the National Glass Association. The National Glass Association, through the presentation of the Hank Siesel Award, recognized him for his contributions to both the glass industry and his community at large.
