Thomas-Andre Lee, born in 1966, son of James and Mary-Jo, father of Damon and Stephanie, died on May 23, 2008.
Thomas Andre Lee passed away Friday, May 23, 2008, in St. Augustine from injuries sustained from an automobile accident on State Road 206. He was born in Mountain View, Calif., on Jan. 15, 1966. In 1969, his family moved to St. Augustine, where he attended local schools. Tom was a true entrepreneur, involved in many things, primarily real estate acquisition and renovation. He acquired such projects such as the Sea Breeze Hotel on Anastasia Island and the Casa de Vilano on Vilano Beach. With each project, he lovingly over-improved things, much like he lived his own life, striving for perfection with every task. Tommy was an avid athlete, participating in numerous sports throughout the city. He spent many hours a day of his life enjoying his boat and the beach with his children, Stephanie and Damon, fishing, surfing and appreciating nature. Tommy traveled extensively as well, with his children and those he loved the most, to exotic destinations searching and finding, at times, the perfect wave for surfing was his true passion. He lived with the knowledge and joy that every day he had was a gift and that we are all just passing through this life. Tom was like a son and brother to so many who knew him. He will be missed but surely not forgotten for the legacy of love and compassion he spread throughout this earth. God could not have given us a better son, father and brother. He was, for all that he achieved, his father's and family's superstar. He will be fondly remembered forever by his children, Damon and Stephanie Lee; his parents, James Lee and Mary Jo Ruiz; his siblings, Victoria Guttinger (Walt), Valerie Lee Kleinschek (Mike), Joseph Lee and Michael Lee; as well as nieces, Shelby Ayano and Skylar; and nephews, Ian and Weston; and by the countless friends whose lives he touched. Funeral services include a prayer vigil and viewing at Craig Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 27, from 5 to 8 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held at the Cathedral Basilica Wednesday May 28 at 10 a.m. A seaside vigil will also be held on Saturday, May 31, at Anastasia State Park at 11 a.m. Craig Funeral Home Crematory Memorial Park is in charge of the arrangements.
