Thomas Alden Hilton, 73 SANFORD -- Thomas 'Tom' A. Hilton, 73, of Alfred Road in Sanford, died suddenly on May 30, 2009. Tom was enjoying the outdoors and had just finished planting his annual vegetable garden. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Lucille Hilton of Sanford; one son, Danny Hilton and special friend Barbara of West Enfield, two daughters, Kathy Hilton of Gorham and Patty Poirer and husband Michael of No. Waterboro; his three grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; one brother, Arnold Hilton of Dover, N.H., three sisters, Cora Hall of Sanford, Mary Schachne of No. Berwick and New York, Ruth Hatch of Deland, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends may visit with the family on Thursday, June 4, 2009, from 4-6 p.m. at the Alfred Parish Church, 12 Kennebunk Rd., with a memorial service at 6 p.m., with the Rev. Brian Gailbraith, officiating. Committal prayers and burial will be held later in the new Southern Maine Veterans Cemetery.
