Therese Marie Galletta Knight - CHARLOTTE, NC- Therese, 86, a resident of Charlotte, N.C., died peacefully on Monday, February 28, 2011. Therese, daughter of Dominico C. Galletta and Annie Therese Bannon Galletta, was born in Savannah, Ga. on June 30, 1924. She graduated from Saint Vincent's Academy on June 1, 1943. Therese served with the US Navy during World War II as a Yeomen First Class working for JAG. In 1946 she married the late William M. Knight, an officer in the US Air Force. Together they enjoyed 62 years of marriage, extensive travel and parenthood. Therese is survived by their 7 children Bill, Patty, Joyce, Nancy, Marcella, Susan, and Charles; 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is her sister Anne Wolfe and many nieces and nephews. Therese will have a funeral mass at Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Wappingers Falls, N.Y. on April 30 at 10 a.m. Burial will be next to her husband in the Wappingers Rural Cemetery.
