FORTIER - Therese Rose Alma Fortier was born on March 24, 1927 in Victoire, SK. She passed away peacefully with family by her side at the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon on July 12, 2005. Therese married Roland Fortier on June 18, 1951 and lived in Mattes, SK where they owned a grocery store. In 1962, Roland and Therese moved their family to a farm, which they purchased and cleared themselves. They farmed two quarters with great joy for 21 years while her husband worked full time at the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool. Therese worked part time at the Post Office and for the Housing Authority in Debden. In 1983, after Roland's retirement, they sold the farm and moved to Debden where they lived until Roland's passing. A year later, Therese moved to Saskatoon where the majority of her children resided. She lived at Primrose Chateau and most recently, at Cedar Gardens. Therese is survived by her children: Angele (Shy) Riyasat of Victoria, BC & their children Marissa, Eric, Rachad and Lisa; Helene (Michel) Beaulac of Debden, SK & their children Nicole (Lenard) Painchaud (Connor & Braden); Serge and Donald; Maurice (Cheryl) Fortier of Warman, SK & their children Shantelle and Ben; Marc (Bernice) Fortier of Saskatoon, SK and their children Duane, Renae, Rhea and Jared; Marcel (Darlene) Fortier of Langham, SK & their children Luanne (Mike) Zacharias (Christian & Ryan); Daniel (Aimee) (Samantha, Jessica & Shauna), and Michael (Heather); Martin (Bernadette) Fortier of Regina, SK & their children Yvan and Michel; Paulette (Paul) Lukan of Warman, SK & their children Catherine and Jeffrey; Denise (Real) Dagenais of Martensville, SK & their daughter Chloe. Her sisters: Ricky (Florian) Robin of Leask, SK; Clemence (Louis) Bandet of Debden, SK and Sr. Priscilla Houde P.M. of Prince Albert, SK. Her brothers: Edgar (Angela) Houde of Langley, BC and Gerard (Edna) Houde of Calgary, AB; Numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by: Her loving husband Roland in 2003; a son Paul in 1982; her parents: Emile & Eva Houde and her brothers Raymond & Laurent. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Arthritis Foundation. Therese was laid to rest in the Debden Cemetery. Beau "Lac " Funeral Home was entrusted with funeral arrangements.
