BANGOR - Theresa M. (Brooks) McDonald, 86, died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011, at a local health care facility. She was born Oct. 8, 1924, in South Brewer, the daughter of John and Ada (Connelly) Brooks. Theresa grew up in South Brewer and was a 1942 graduate of Brewer High School. She enjoyed a career in retail at many Bangor department stores. She will always be remembered for her smile and warm personality. Theresa is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, James F. McDonald Sr.; sons, James F. McDonald Jr. and his wife, Catherine, of West Haven, Conn., and John C. McDonald and his wife, Linda, of Bangor; grandson, Michael McDonald of West Haven, Conn.; brother, Anthony Brooks of Augusta; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by six brothers and three sisters. Relatives and friends are welcome to call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 2, at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 768 Ohio St., Bangor. Interment will be afterward at Mount Pleasant Catholic Cemetery, Ohio Street, Bangor.
