Obituary of Theresa Carter

LACONIA - Theresa Adeline Carter, 84, formerly of 14 Cleveland Place, died at the home of her daughter Cathy surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, Oct. 3, 2010. She was the widow of William "Babe" Carter who died in 1997.Theresa was born Oct. 27, 1925, in Laconia, the daughter of the late Wilfred and Maria (Dupont) Maheux. A lifelong resident of Laconia, Theresa worked for many years throughout the Laconia area as prep cook, and provided cleaning services for many local residents and businesses, most recently for the Brick Front Restaurant, the former Simoneau-Paquette Memorial Home location, and the Robert G. Stinson Co., P.C. She was known as a hard worker with attention to detail with genuine care and concern for all her clients.Her life was always dedicated to her family and all enjoyed famous Sunday dinners.Theresa was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church, and a member of the Ladies of Sacred Heart.Besides her husband and parents, Theresa was predeceased by her infant daughter, Mary Ellen Carter in 1956, and a brother, Philip Maheux Theresa is survived by her seven children, William Carter and his wife Tina of Laconia, Richard Carter of Lakeport, George "Joe" Carter of Laconia, John Carter and his wife Sue of Belmont, Peter Carter of Lowell, Mass., James Carter and his wife Cheryl of Meredith, and Catherine Dutton and her husband William of Belmont; her siblings, Armand Maheux, Alphonse "Buster" Maheux, Lucille Bilodeau, all of Laconia, and Claire Stinson of Gilford; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2010, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home 164 Pleasant St., Laconia using the Carriage House entrance. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, Oct. 7, 2010, at 10 a.m. at Blessed Andre Bessette Parish, Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Ave., Laconia.
