Theodore S. Barton, 83, Sarasota, died May 6, 2006. He was born March 21, 1923, in Keene, N.H., and came to Sarasota 37 years ago from there. He retired from the insurance industry and graduated from the University of New Hampshire. He was an Army Air Forces veteran of World War II. He was past Potentate of Sahib Shrine Center in 1985, the Lions Club International, life member of the Elks and the American Legion. He was a Unitarian. Survivors include his wife of 17 years, Carolyn; sons Kenneth of Sarasota, Allan of North Venice, Dale of Loganville, Ga., and David of Gainesville, Ga.; sisters Shirley Magnani of Clayton, Calif., and Barbara Jenkal of Marietta, Ga.; and three grandchildren. A Masonic service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Toale Brothers Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, Sarasota.
