Funeral service for Mrs. Thelma Viola Hall, age 92, of Decatur will be Monday, Dec. 6, 2004, at 2 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wallace Fuller and the Rev. Charles Williams officiating.Burial will be in Johnson Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.Mrs. Hall died Friday, Dec. 3, 2004, at her residence. She was born May 22, 1912, to Joseph Brown and Lindie Long Brown. She attended Decatur First Holy Church of Christ. Survivors include one son, Jimmy Poteete of Jacksonville, Fla.; one daughter, Nadine Thrasher of Decatur; eight grandchildren, Ray Cheatham, Vickie Jackson, James Thrasher and wife Denise, Tommy Thrasher, Alton Thrasher, Jackie Ann Sheridan, Ann Marie Poteete, and Mary Ann Poteete; 13 great grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Hospice of the Valley.
