Born September 1, 1908 in Nashville to the late Baxter and Florence Wilkerson Smith, and is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, George H. Hall, Jr. and granddaughter, Dorothy Gaye Crawford, she is survived by daughters, Georgia (Glenn) Welch, Franklin, Dorothy Ann Crawford, Nashville and Annette (Johnny) Roberts, Meredith, NH; brother, Richard (Nannie Lou) Smith, Hermitage; sister, Virginia Malcolm, Madison; seven grandchildren, G. Tom Welch, Jr., Spring Hill, Cynthia Welch, Los Angeles, CA, Susan (Michael) Heeney, Nolensville, Nan (Bryan) McKerly, Nashville, Angela (Kenan) Wood, Boston, MA; eleven great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. She retired from the United Methodist Board of Education in 1972, a member of Belmont United Methodist Church, Nashville since 1946 and a member of the Red Cross, where she volunteered at Vanderbilt Hospital for 19 years. Graveside services will be conducted eleven o'clock Wednesday morning, the 23rd day of September, 2009 with Minister Leland Carden officiating. Grandchildren will serve as Pallbearers.
