Funeral service for Thelma Jean Grimes, 75, South Blue Lake Avenue, DeLand, who died Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2005, at University Center West, DeLand, will be 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 21, at Settle-Wilder Chapel, with Pastor Steve Darrow, Grace Baptist Church, Deltona, officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Oak Hill. Friends may call from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Born in Pike County, Ohio, Mrs. Grimes, a homemaker, moved to this area in 1990 from Clermont County, Ohio. She was a member of Newtonsville Baptist Church in Ohio. Mrs. Grimes enjoyed shopping, sewing, cooking and baking, and was a doll collector. Survivors include her husband, Warren H., DeLand; son, Rodney L., Milford, Ohio; daughter, Wanda E. Latchford, Greenville, Ohio; brother, George Ward, Hillsboro, Ohio; sisters, Leona Butterbaugh, Milford, Ohio, Eleanor Jones, Oak Hill, Ada Davis and Bertha Hood, both of DeLand; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
