Mrs. Thelma Elizabeth Jones - SAVANNAH - Mrs. Thelma Elizabeth Jones, 72, had her transition Sunday, June 15, 2008 at Candler General Hospital. A native of Savannah, attended the public schools of Chatham County and was a 1954 graduate of Beach-Cuyler High School. Mrs. Jones was a faithful and dedicated member of Central Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a Youth Advisor, Choir Chaplin and Sunday School Teacher. She was employed by the Catholic Diocese of Savannah and worked at St. Mary's Homes for twenty-two dedicated years. Her parents, William, Sr. and Isabelle Harris; sister, Willie Mae Groover; brothers: Alphonzo and Williams, Jr. Harris, preceded her in death. Survivors: her loving and devoted husband of fifty-four years, Charles Jones, Sr.; three children: Charlene, Charles, Jr. (Virginia) and Anthony Jones; two grands: Avary Jahmal Jones and Latoya Lynette Jones, sister, Lillian Dean Griffin; brother, Felix Harris(Marilyn); a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends, and a special "baby" Malachi (pet).
