Obituary of Thelma Davis


Thelma M. Age 83, of Wellsboro, PA, formerly of Westminster, MD, passed away Sunday, February 27, 2005, at the Green Home. Born June 29, 1921 in Woodbine, MD, Thelma was a daughter of Jesse and Edna (Welch) Maring. Mrs. Davis was employed as a bookkeeper by Carroll County Social Services in Westminster, MD, for 20 years until her retirement in 1985. She enjoyed attending the Covington Baptist Church. Thelma's main interest throughout life was her home and family. Surviving are three daughters, Faye Dean of Belvidere, NJ, Rebecca Kiddoo of Solihull, England, and Deborah Scott of Blossburg, PA; a son, Ross Davis of Boonsboro, MD; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Roscoe Maring of Woodbine, MD; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Thelma was predeceased by her beloved husband of 44 years, Murray Davis in 1985; and three brothers and a sister. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday at the Zwicharowski Funeral Home in Blossburg, PA. The funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Thursday at the funeral home, with Pastor Teddy Rood and Pastor Joshua Dean (her grandson) officiating. Burial will be in Maryland. Memorials may be made to the Covington Baptist Church, Main St., Covington, PA 16917.
