NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Thelma A. (Wisher) Martin, 80, of North Street, Williamstown, died Friday, Feb. 18, 2005, at the North Adams Regional Hospital, where she was admitted on Feb. 9.She was born in North Adams on March 29, 1924, a daughter of the late Truman and Margaret (Busby) Wisher. She attended schools in Williamstown and graduated from the former Williamstown High School in 1942.She was employed at the former Gevaert Company of America Inc. in Williamstown for several years. She was last employed in the food service department at Williams College.She was a communicant of the St. Patrick & Raphael Parish in Williamstown and was an avid gardener.Survivors include a son, Ronald P. Martin of Williamstown, with whom she made her home; a daughter, Holly M. Atherton and her husband Mark of Pownal, Vt.; two grandchildren, Zachary Martin of Bennington, Vt. and Tyler Atherton of Pownal; a former daughter-in-law, Kathy Martin of Bennington; a cousin, Sally Busby; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Marcella Foisey, and a brother, Bernard Wisher.Private funeral services will take place Wednesday at the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery, Williamstown. There are no calling hours. Memorial donations are suggested for the Village Ambulance Service, American Cancer Society or to the Second Chance Animal Shelter, through the funeral home.
