Obituary of Teri-Lynn Murphy


Teri Lynn (Clendaniel) Murphy, 50, of Tuscumbia, Ala., passed away after a brief illness at the University of Alabama Birmingham Hospital in Birmingham, Ala., on May 10, 2012. Teri was born in Millville and has been involved with Mission Teens for the past 19 years. From 1996 - 2009, Teri was the Assistant Executive Director of Mission Teens in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. While performing her duties at Mission Teens, Teri was also employed full time as an executive secretary for M&R Drywall in Pompano Beach, Fla., as an independent agent for Xtreme Lashes and as a licensed esthetician she owned and operated I Am Lashes. Teri was a very talented writer and wrote the Sonrise News newsletter for the Sonrise Mission Teens in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., on a monthly basis while she was a staff member at that location. She also wrote several religious articles for the Miami Florida Sun-Sentinel newspaper. Teri made several television and radio appearances in the Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., area discussing treatment options for drug and alcohol rehabilitation. Teri was very dedicated to her work at Mission Teens, which gave her the opportunity to travel to the Dominican Republic to assist in building a church and to Ecuador to assist in building a school. Teri was a gifted and talented artist and drew many beautiful pictures over the years. Teri loved life, was very passionate in her religious beliefs and was a beautiful person inside and out. Teri had a tough exterior and a heart of gold. She nurtured and mentored many; friends, families and strangers. Her beautiful smile, her laughter and her strong convictions will be missed. Teri is survived by her loving husband of 16 years, the Rev. William Murphy of Tuscumbia, Ala.; mother, Catherine (Butler) Clendaniel of Millville; her two beloved yorkies, Cadie and Ezekiel; four brothers, Donald Jr. (Debra) Clendaniel, Kurt Clendaniel Sr., Brett Sr. (Marietta) Clendaniel, all of Millville, and Scott (Heather) Clendaniel of West Deptford; one sister, Darlene (Kenneth Haines Sr.) Clendaniel of Millville, uncles and aunts Louis and Doris Clendaniel Sr. and Marguerite Clendaniel of Millville, Francis and Agnes Fisher; Joseph B. Butler Sr. of Vineland and Gene Weisgerber of Kentucky; nine nephews; two nieces; one great-nephew; four great-neices; father and mother in-law, Donald W. and Adalou Murphy; in-laws, Michael (Valinda) Murphy; Patti (Mark) Comdron; Peter (Dela) Murphy; Mary (Richard) Saglembene; Joe (Chris) Murphy; Geri Kennelly and many wonderful and loving cousins. Teri was predeceased by her beloved father, Donald E. Clendaniel Sr., in 2011 and brother, Rick M. Clendaniel, in 2009. Services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. in the ROCAP SHANNON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME of Millville. Burial will be private. Relatives and friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to: Mission Teens, P.O.
