->SIDNEY -- Teresa Ryan Davis, 80, of Juniper Lane South, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Aug. 10, 2006, at MaineGeneral Medical Center, Thayer Campus, after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. She was surrounded by family at the time of her passing.She was born in Brewer on Dec. 5, 1925, the daughter of the late William J. and Thelma (Ryan) Ryan.Mrs. Davis was a graduate of Bangor High School and attended many of her high school reunions.She was employed by Western Union during World War II in Washington, D.C., where she met her dear friend, Velma Sanders of Spearman, Texas, whom she still kept in touch with until her death. Mrs. Davis was also the secretary to the Commissioner of Finance for the State of Maine in the 1940s and 50s.She is survived by her husband, Vernon "Bud" Davis of Sidney; a son, Craig Davis and his wife, Susan, of Keene, N.H.; a daughter, Ann Davis of Sidney; a brother, John T. Barrows of Portland; a sister, Nancy B. Spencer and her husband, William, of Bangor; two nieces, a nephew, two great-nieces, two great-nephews and several cousins.There will be no public visiting hours. Burial and committal prayers will be held at noon on Friday, Aug. 18, in the Chapel at the new Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Mount Vernon Road, Augusta.
