Teresa J. Newton, 55, of Apalachin, went to be with the Lord after a long illness on Saturday, August 16, 2014. Teresa was raised in Sherrill and was a longtime resident of Chittenango. She was predeceased by her parents, Thurmond and Dorothy Francis; brother, Tim Francis; sister, Patsy Francis Bush. She is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Dan Newton; her sons, Scott (Nikki) Newton, Chittenango, NY, Steve Newton, East Syracuse, NY; grandson, Jenson Newton, Chittenango, NY; her sister, Sue (Joe) Francis Blair; sister-in-law, Linda (Stewart) Newton Baker; brother-in-law, Jim (Bonnie) Newton; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Teresa was a longtime member of the Free Methodist Church. She had a trained voice and used it to sing praises to the Lord with various worship teams. She enjoyed being a crafter and was a great mother and wife. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at New Beginnings Church, Rt. 5, Wampsville, NY. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, 11 a.m. at the New Beginnings Church. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Chittenango, NY.
