MILLER, TANYA C., September 26, 1957 - November 2, 2005. Tanya C. Miller was born in Winter Garden, FL September 26, 1957. She grew up in Ocoee and graduated from Ocoee High School in 1975. She was the editor of the 50th year yearbook for Ocoee High School. She attended Auburn University and graduated with a degree in Political Science in 1978. She received her Masters degree in Public Works from University of Tennessee. She was an active member in the Woman's Club of Ocoee. Tanya was also an active member of the City of Ocoee Planning and Zoning Commission for many years. Tanya worked in Public Works for Seminole County and was the Fiscal Officer in the Highways Division Public Works in Orange County where she finished her career. Tanya was an active member in the Central Florida Genealogy Society and was a President of the Society. Tanya loved Genealogy and researched her family lines and was considered the family keeper of the records. She was a co-founder of Family Tree Climbers business and was the main speaker at seminars for Beginning Genealogy. Tanya was an expert in Genealogical Research. She loved her career in Public works. Tanya was a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy Chapter 2173 Jefferson Davis and completed a two-year term as President. When Tanya was a junior attending Ocoee High School, she was the invited guest of Congressman Bill Gunter in 1974 to Washington DC. Tanya was an intern in the office of Senator Lawton Chiles in Washington, DC in 1975. She had a love of history and specialized in knowledge of The War Between the States. Tanya was a fine woman, a loyal wife and will be missed by all of her friends and family. She is survived by her husband, William F. McCallister, his children, Amy Pierce and husband Josh and child Peyton, Ann Rank and her husband Grant, Ellen Thomas and her husband Michael and their children Haleigh and Tabitha. Her mother, Beatrice Miller and her sisters, Martha Guest, Linda Topping, Jan Crews and Marie Carter. Brothers-in-law: Dave Guest, Elvin Crews and Bob Carter, Nephews: Robert Carter and Cory Carter and his wife Sarah and child Madelyn. Rhonda and Freddie Clark and their children Courtney and Brandon and many other cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and friends in the community. Funeral Services will be held at the Oak Level Baptist Church on Monday, November 7, 2005 at 2PM. Viewing will be at the Collison Carey Hand Funeral Home in Ocoee at 2-4 and at 6-8PM. Interment will be at the Woodlawn Memorial Cemetery in Gotha, FL. There will be a gathering following the graveside service at Tanya's mother's house, Beatrice Miller.
