JACKSON, Mrs. Tommie Ida J., resident of 3344 E. Tuskegee Circle, died in a local hospital on Saturday, June 2, 2001. She united with Mt. Gillard Baptist Church, Lowndes County, AL and later joined Bryant Street Baptist Church upon relocating to Montgomery, AL. Mrs. Jackson united Lilly Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorate of Rev. Thomas E. Jordan. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. from Lilly Baptist Church, Hill Street, with Rev. T. E. Jordan officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Gillard Cemetery, Trickum, AL with Phillips-Riley Funeral Home directing. She is survived by her daughters, Myrtle Lowe, Cleveland, OH, Anna Jackson, Montgomery, AL; sisters, A. Deborah Carey, Inell L. Johnson, Montgomery, AL, Francis Pickney, Tyler, AL; brother, Oscar Johnson, Tyler, AL; grandchildren, Tommy Jones, Lori, Angie, Charles and Tarsha Jackson, all of Cleveland, OH; nieces, Dorothy Days (L.D.), Lancaster, PA, Karen McCloud (Tom), Cincinnati, OH, Beverly Thomas (Cleveland), Peoria, IL, Constance Gordon (Alvin), Birmingham, AL; nephews, Percy Carey, Montgomery, AL, Billy Johnson (Theresa), Gadsden, AL, Bertran Pickney (Ann), Tyler, AL, Delaney Johnson (Barbara), Vickesburg, MS, Larry Lucas (Crystal), Syracuse, NY; a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and special friends, Mrs. Nettie B. Chambliss, Mary Gray and Lois Starter. Mrs. Jackson will lie in state at the church one hour prior to services.
