Obituary of Timothy Carter


CARTER, TIMOTHY FORRESTTimothy "Tim" Forrest Carter, age 30 of Gainesville, FL passed away on Tuesday evening, January 31, 2012 in Maxville, FL after being involved in an automobile accident. Tim was born in Gainesville and lived most of his life there. He spent three years with his family in Hiroshima, Japan, where he attended Fukuro-machi Elementary School; a life broadening cultural experience. After attending the IB program at Eastside High School, he received a Bachelors of Fine Arts from the University of Florida in piano performance under the tutelage of Dr. Kevin Sharpe. He was a piano and harmonium teacher, a musician and kirtaniya. He enjoyed kirtan jamming and basketball with his many friends. He worshiped at the Alachua Hare Krishna Temple. Tim was a deeply spiritual, generous, unassuming, good person. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; Richard and Lahoma Carter, and John and Una (ZZ) Walstrom. Tim was raised in an extended family that included his grandmother, ZZ. Survivors include his parents, Randy and Tina Carter of Buffalo, NY; his sister, Nona Carter and her husband Alexander Foss of Suwanee, TN; and his brother, Jeffrey Carter and his wife Anita Chopra of Buffalo. Funeral services will be held at 4:30 PM on Monday February 6, 2012 at the Milam Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions should be made in Tim's name and directed towards the social services account at: Krishna Community Fund, Inc. PO Box 2036 Alachua, FL 32616.
