Thomas P. Garvey of New Port Richey Fl. and Queens died Saturday August 29 at Sloan Kettering Hospital. He was 74. Thomas was born September 7, 1934 in New York City to the late John and Susan (McGinty) Garvey. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy during the Korean War aboard various ships. He late went to work in the New York City School District until his retirement. He was a member of Local #891 I.U.O.E. where he served as Manhattan Borough Chairman. He was also a long time delegate for the N.Y.C. Central Labor Council. Thomas is survived by his sons Brian and his wife Lisa of Stony Point, Thomas and Lori of Colorado, his daughters Kathy and Kevin LaPointe of Hughesville, Maryland, Jeanine of Stony Point, Andrea and Tony Musto of Tomkins Cove, Melissa Garvey and Matt Keefe, Carrie Garvey and Stephen Pettipas. His grandchildren Justin, Jamie, Hannah, Collin, Jesse, Brandon, Kaitlyn, Emily, Samantha, Alyssa, Madison, Daniel. He is also survived by his brothers Jack, Kevin, Raymond, Brendon and his wife Terry, his sisters Margaret Rose, Ann Brigid, Suzanne, many nieces and nephews. Friends may call Tuesday 7-9 pm and Wednesday 2-4, 7-9 pm at the T.J. McGowan Sons Funeral Home GARNERVILLE. Thomas's mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11:00 am in St. Gregory Barbarigo Church. Burial and military honors will follow in St. Anthony's Cemetery. T.J.
