Thomas P. Garvey of New City, died February 13, 2004 at Nyack Hospital. Thomas was born May 3, 1925 in NYC to James and Bessie Garvey. Thomas has been a New City Resident since 1959, prior he lived in Valley Cottage and NYC. He served his country proud in the Navy during WWII. Thomas traveled all over the US for LCI (Landing Craft Infantry) runions. in 1949 he went to work as an Insurance Broker for Brooks and Kupillas for 30 years. In 1979 he worked as a self-employed Insurance Broker in New City and retired in 1992. Thomas was a member of the American Legion #1682 in New City and the Haverstraw Elks Lodge #877. He was an avid bowler and loved to read about the history of WWII. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Thomas is survived by his son Kenneth J. Garvey and wife Wendy of Port Richie FL, and his daughter Linda K. and husband Robert Dandrea of Stony Point, six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his wife Bernice (Bea) in 1987. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 on Sunday and Monday at the Higgins FH in New City. An Elks Service will be held Monday 7:30 pm and the American Legion Service Monday 8 pm. A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday 11 am at Higgins FH with Burial to follow at the Fred Loescher Veterans Cemetery in Monsey. MICHAEL J.
