COWPENS, SCSylvia McCluney Smith, of 12 Wood Street, Cowpens, SC, died January 3, 2006 at her home.A native of Spartanburg, she was the daughter of Mattie McCluney of Spartanburg and the late Emory McCluney, and was the wife of Johnny Lee Smith of Clifton.Survivors include two sons, Richard Edward McCluney and James Frederick McCluney, both of the home; two brothers, Gregory McCluney and Marion McCluney of Spartanburg; one step-brother, Bernard Mathis of Sumter, SC; three sister, Geri Reeder of Cowpens, Jacqueline Gentry and Sharon Holbert of Spartanburg; one grandson, Darnell Bell of Montgomery, AL; and a special friend, James Henderson of the home. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lakeisha McCluney; and by a brother, Kenneth McCluney.The family will receive friends at the home of her mother, Mattie McCluney, 729 Asheville Hwy., Spartanburg, and also at 112 Wood Street, Cowpens.E.
