Susan J. Snelgrove Owens, age 47, passed away May 2, 2013, after a brief illness. Susan was born March 14, 1966. She was a native of Brockton, Mass., and had previously lived in Lexington, N.C., and most recently in Valdosta, Ga., for the past seven years. She was the daughter of the late Aubrey G. Snelgrove and Priscilla M. (Pratt) Snelgrove, both of Brockton, Mass. Susan is survived by her devoted and adoring fiance, Michael Griggs of Valdosta, Ga.; and three loving daughters, Holly (Rackley) Hayes and Julie (Rackley) Welch, both of Lexington, N.C., and Hannah Griggs of Valdosta, Ga. Susan was also a loving and caring mother to Rebecca Ann Taylor and David Griggs of Valdosta, Ga. She was extremely proud of her five grandchildren, Noah Hayes, Madison Hayes, Ethan Rackley and Jaxon Welch, all of Lexington, N.C., and Nicholas Touchton of Valdosta, Ga. She was the sister of Kathy Ann (Ingles) Valliere of Plymouth, Mass., Lee Ann Snelgrove of West Lynn, Mass., and Mark D. Snelgrove of East Freetown, Mass., and the late Robert J. Ingles of Brockton, Mass. Susan also leaves three nephews, Christopher Reichert of Brockton, Mass., Daniel Reichert of Abilene, Texas, John Ingles of Brockton, Mass.; and a niece, Aubrey Priscilla Snelgrove of East Freetown, Mass.; two aunts and several cousins. Funeral services were private. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 25, 2013, at 10 a.m. at All Saints Episcopal Church, 44 Park Ave., Whitman, Mass.
