Obituary of Susan E. Sullivan


Susan E. (Brown) Sullivan of Quincy died at the John Scott Nursing Home in Braintree Thursday March 17, 2011 after a period of failing health. She was 98. Beloved wife of the late Albert F. Sullivan. Born in South Carolina, following her mothers death Susan Brown was raised in Catholic Boarding Schools from age 5 mostly in Greenville, SC. She finished High School at Nazareth, KY. Following graduation from Nursing School at Providence Hospital in Washington, DC, Susan came to Boston to work at South Bostons Carney Hospital Maternity Ward. Her Religious upbringing carried with her throughout her life, attending Mass daily until she was 90 years old. She was the loving mother of Susanne M. Scott of Medford, Frederick J. Sullivan retired District Chief Boston Fire Department Dist. 9 and his wife Jean of Neponset, Ruth E. Spring retired Boston School Teacher and her Husband Edward of Quincy, Eugene P. Sullivan also a retired Boston School Teacher and his wife Margaret of Milton. Sister of the late Nicholas Brown of Spartanburg, SC, Stella M. Brown Mother Clotilde Angela Ursuline Order of Wilmington, Del, and Marguerite Brown. Also survived by 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. A Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Anns Church in Quincy, Wednesday March 23 at 11 a.m. Interment private. Arrangements by the MacKinnon Funeral Home, Whitman.
