Susan Doris Lamprey Johnson, 88, born in New Rochelle, died June 14, 2012, at the Meadow Ridge Continuing Care Community in Redding, Conn.She earned her bachelor's degree in physical education and health and degrees in elementary and secondary education from Ohio Wesleyan University. She formerly taught physical education and health at the Alexander Hamilton High School and the Hillside Avenue Elementary School in Elmsford, and was a hospital volunteer for 58 years. She also worked as secretary and bookkeeper for 25 years at the offices of the Heathcote Medical Associates in Scarsdale.Johnson was a member of the Kappa Delta Pi educational society, the Church in the Highlands in White Plains and the Mortar Board senior women's honorary. She was also a member of the White Plains Women's Club, where she served as president, was a member of the White Plains Hospital Auxiliary and served on its board and the Hospital board of directors.Johnson is survived by her husband of 64 years, Ellsworth Potter Johnson; sons, Douglas Potter Johnson and Walter Randolph Johnson; and her grandchildren, Brian James Johnson and twins, Peter Randolph and Rachel Sue Johnson.Services will be held June 27 at the Meadow Ridge Continuing Care Community auditorium.
