<!-- DisplayFullObituaryText -->September 9, 2014 Susan Denise Moore McConnell, age 56 of Fultondale, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 09, 2014. She was a lifelong resident of Fultondale and graduated from Fultondale High School in 1976. She was employed by Energen Resources. She was also a member of North Gardendale Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her son, Jarrod Blair McConnell; father, H. Banks Moore; father-in-law, Felton H. McConnell; and mother-in-law, Nicie Ann McConnell. Mrs. McConnell is survived by her husband, John M. McConnell; sons, Michael McConnell (Sandi), and Derek McConnell; grandchildren, Justin, Josh, and Shelby; mother, Sue Moore; sisters, Janet Underwood (David), and Marcia Hazelrig (Jack); several nieces, nephews, loving family and friends; and her special friends and co-workers at Energen Resources. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 12, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Walker Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Moore officiating. Interment will follow at Walker Chapel Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 11, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
