Anniston - Funeral services for Mrs. Sue Paschal Moore, will be 2 p.m. this afternoon, September 7, 2008, at Parker Memorial Baptist Church with the Reverend Dr. Billy Harris and the Reverend Dr. Mac Amis officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Mrs. Moore passed away Friday, September 5, 2008, at UAB Hospital in Birmingham. Mrs. Moore was an educator in the Anniston City School System for thirty-three years. She began her career as a teacher at Golden Springs Elementary School. Later, Mrs. Moore served as senior Guidance Counselor and Coordinator of Guidance at Anniston High School. She was also a registered Psychometrist for the Alabama State Department of Education. Mrs. Moore earned a B.S. Degree in Elementary Education from Jacksonville State University where she graduated with "distinction.'' She earned the M.S. Degree in Guidance and Counseling from Jacksonville State University. She also earned an Ed. S. Degree in Counseling and Guidance from the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa. Mrs. Moore was an active member of Parker Memorial Baptist Church where she was a member of the Betty Everett Sunday School Class. As a professional Mrs. Moore belonged to the following organizations: American Association for Counseling and Development, Alabama Association for Counseling and Development, Alabama School Counselors Association, Alabama Association of Women Deans and Counselors, Education Association of Anniston, Alabama Education Association, National Education Association, Alpha Delta Kappa, International Honorary Education Sorority, Phi Delta Kappa, International Education Fraternity. Among the honors Mrs. Moore received were Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges, Kappa Delta Pi, National Honorary Education Fraternity, Kappa Delta Epsilon, National Honorary Education Sorority, Alpha Delta Kappa, International Honorary Education Sorority Scholarship, and nominated for Alabama Young Educator Award. Mrs. Moore was a member of Lambda Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa, Philomathic Club, The Book Club, Anniston High School Lunch Bunch, Nimble Thimble Sewing Group, and Women on Mission of Parker Memorial. Mrs. Moore is survived by her husband, of sixty-one years, Robert E. Moore; four daughters, Jane M. Borders (Dan L.), of Anniston, Patricia M. Dickerson (William Brinkley), of Atlanta, GA; Faye M. Carlisle (Terry B.), of Atlanta, GA; and Kaye M. Cook of Los Angeles, CA; a brother, James G. Paschal, of Anniston, and four grandchildren, Matthew Moore McCormick, of Auburn, Jeffrey Robert McCormick, of Anniston, Whitney Elizabeth Dickerson, of New York City, NY; and William Brinkley Dickerson III, of Atlanta, GA. Mrs. Moore is preceded in death by her infant twin sons; Leland G. Cook, son-in-law of Atlanta, GA; her parents, George Gilbert Paschal and Theo Bryant Paschal; and four brothers, Jesse Paschal, Charles Paschal, Robert Paschal, and John Paschal, all of Anniston. Pallbearers will be Cleo Thomas, David Phillips, Franz Cobb, Ron Miller, Terry Carlisle, Dan L. Borders, Matthew McCormick, and Jeff McCormick. Honorary pallbearers will be the Betty Everett Sunday School Class of Parker Memorial Baptist Church, Lambda Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa, and Nimble Thimble Sewing Group. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Restoring God's House, Parker Memorial Baptist Church, Twelfth and Quintard Avenue, Anniston, AL 36207, or your favorite charity.
