Stephen-Michael-Bane II, born in 1989, son of Delinda, died at 19 years old.
Stephen Michael Bane II, 19, passed into the gates of heaven on Sunday, April 13, 2008, in Talla-hassee, Fla. Stephen was born in Laguna Hills, Calif., on March 31, 1989. He attended Lynn Haven Elementary School and Mowat Middle School and was a 2007 graduate of A. Crawford Mosley High School. Stephen was a freshman at Florida State University in Tallahassee, Fla. While at Mosley High School, Stephen was a member of the Dolphin football team, #22, where he played defensive back and defensive end. He also was a member of the Mosley weightlifting team, MC ROTC, the track and field team, the National Beta Club and Mosley Advanced Placement for Scholars (MAPPS). Stephen was an active member of Boy Scouts of America Troop 300 in Lynn Haven, Fla., where he earned the rank of Life Scout and served three years as senior patrol leader. In 2006, Stephen was selected and served as a delegate to the Florida Boys State in Tallahassee. He loved scuba diving, boating and hunting. Stephen is survived by his mother, Delinda Bane of Lynn Haven; his father Dr. Stephen Bane and stepmother, Beth Bane, of Alexandria, Va.; one brother, Patrick Bane of Lynn Haven; and two step-brothers, Jeff Hess of Mobile, Ala., and Kevin Hess of Pensacola, Fla. He also is survived by his grandparents, Glenda Smith of Lynn Haven, Russell and Eve Smith of Pensacola, Fla., and Dr. and Mrs. Francis Bane of Boston. He also is survived by several aunts and uncles, including Amanda and Greg Youngblood of Lynn Haven, Dr. and Mrs. Francis Bane II, Dr. and Mrs. Michael Bane and Ms. Allison Bane, all of Boston, Dr. and Mrs. Brian Bane of San Francisco and Ms. Barbara Bane of Charlottesville, Va.; as well as several cousins. The funeral will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 17, 2008, at St. Dominic's Roman Catholic Church in Panama City. The burial will take place at Evergreen Memorial Gardens following the Mass. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2008, at Southerland Family Funeral Home in Panama City.
