SMITH, STEPHANIE JAMICE, 26 Gainesville - Stephanie Jamice Smith, 26, of Gainesville, passed away on October 8, 2006 at the Manor of Gainesville. Stephanie was born in Washington, D.C. and moved to Gainesville in 1991. She attended Buchholz High School and Santa Fe Community College. Stephanie was a life long Christian and prior to her long illness attended The Church of God by Faith in Alachua, and PASSAGE Family Church in Gainesville. Stephanie was a special lady who touched many lives with her unique brand of humor, her rock solid faith and her quiet strength in the face of tremendous circumstances. Stephanie was preceded in death by her loving mother Linda Carol Smith, her grandparents Robert and Altamease Smith and her uncle and "adopted" father Aaron James Taggart. Stephanie is survived by her sister Sharon M.. Smith, of Gainesville; her "adopted" grandmother Edith Williams (husband Elmo) of Alachua; her aunts Shirley Houston, (husband Willie) of Gainesville, Sally Smith of Gainesville, Barbara Duncan ( husband Erwin) of Virginia Beach, VA, Pamela Freeman of Daytona, and Ethel Vinson(husband Willie) of Ocala; one uncle Robert Smith (wife Rema) of Virginia Beach, VA and many cousins, extended family and friends who will all miss her very much. Services will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2006 at 11:00AM at PASSAGE Family Church, 2020 NE 15th Street, Gainesville, FL.
