Stella Ruth Anderson, 88, of Springfield was born July 12, 1921. She passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2010. She graduated from Longview High in Texas in 1938. She graduated from Weslyan College in Fort Worth, Texas with a BS in Science and from Southwestern Bible College in Waxachie, Texas with a BS in Theology. She became an ordained minister in 1954 and was assigned as missionary to Assembly of God in Alaska in 1960. She was a chaplain in Creekside Elfindale for five years. She retired as a school teacher in Alaska. She served 40 years as a minister, missionary, and teacher. She enjoyed fiction writing, computers, and owned Anderson Ozark Enterprises. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lois Trotter Anderson; father, Benjamin Floyd Anderson; brothers, Carlos Anderson and Ray Anderson; and sister Talitha Stump. She is survived by her sisters, Mrs. Sylvia Landers of Overton, Texas and Mrs. Frances Ferguson and husband, Johnny of Dallas, Texas; four nieces; two nephews; 10 great nephews; five great nieces; close friend, Theresa Hall; and niece Doris S. Biren and husband Bernie. Visitation will be Friday, April 23, 2010 from 5 to 7 p.m. in Greenlawn South. Funeral services will be Saturday, April 24, 2010 at 10 a.m. in the funeral home with Reverend Hubert Morris officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations may be made to Assemblies of God.
