Stella Elaine Helmey Williams - SAVANNAH- Stella Elaine Helmey Williams, 83, died Tuesday, September 25, 2007. She was a lifelong resident of Chatham County and was last associated with Windsor Forest Baptist Church. She worked at Union Camp for 36 years and retired in 1982. She was an avid seamstress and provided each of her children a hand crocheted bedspread at their weddings. She was well known for her ability with needle, thread and crafts. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph C. Williams. She is survived by seven children and their spouses, John Richardson (Sandy), Hubert Gibson (Nancy), Robert Gibson (Lillian), Mary Williams (Barry), Roy Davis (Isabella), Cynthia Macht (Gil) and Debbie Hurley (Jackie), one sister, Eva Tomilee Grablow, 26 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
