Stasia E. McDonald ROCKLAND Mrs. Stasia E. (Smith) McDonald, 89, of Whitman died Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at Wingate at Silver Lake in Kingston. She was a longtime resident of Rockland before moving to Whitman 8 years ago. She was born in Walpole on December 28, 1919, the daughter of the late Frank and Annie (Bazelyan) Smith. She was raised and educated in Norwood and was a 1941 Graduate of Boston City Hospital School of Nursing. Until her retirement, Mrs. McDonald was employed many years as an ICC Nurse at the South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. Wife of the late Paul A. McDonald, she is survived by 1 daughter, Rita Kelly of Hanson, 5 sons, John McDonald of Everett, Thomas McDonald of St. Augustine, FL, Peter McDonald of Brookline, Francis McDonald of Burbank, CA and Stephen McDonald of Pembroke, 1 brother, Edward Smith of St. Petersburg, FL, 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Funeral Mass will be on Saturday at 11 a.m. in Holy Family Church, 403 Union St. in Rockland. Interment in Holy Family Cemetery in Rockland.
