ObituaryStanley Lee Johnson, 75, of Fort Myers Beach, passed away from complications of Multiple Myeloma on May 6, 2001. He was born in Cedar Falls, Iowa a son of the late Oscar and Eva Johnson he served in the Army Air Force during WWII and graduated from Iowa State University. Stan married Gretchen Adam in 1951 and worked for Standard Oil for 38 years before retiring in 1984. He moved to Fort Myers Beach in 1990. Mr. Johnson is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Gretchen; his children, Susan Bernal of Brooklyn, NY, Chris and Mary Johnson of Fort Myers Beach, Curt Johnson U.S. Virgin Islands, Karla Johnson of Duluth, Minnesota, sister and brother-in-law, Bonnie and Dick Adams, brother and sister-in-law, Berwyn and Marlys Johnson, sister-in-law, Annette Johnson, grandchildren, Carl, Moshe, Cody, Yosef, and many special nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Holger, Oscar, Gerald and wife Janet, sister-in-law, Dolores, grandson, Akiva. A memorial funeral service will be conducted in Iona Hope Episcopal Church on Wednesday at 4 p.m., with visitation at 3 p.m. The family requests memorial contributions in his name be made to Multiple Myeloma Foundation or Hope Hospice of Lee County. Fort Myers Beach Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of cremation arrangements.
