GREER, SC-- Stanley Jones (Stan) Jackson, 93, widower of Thelma Edwards Jackson, died on October 23, 2005 at Summit Place in Simpsonville.Born in Spartanburg County, he was the son of the late William Clarence Jackson and Azzie Raines Jackson. He served in the Navy during WWII and was a member of the Bailey Masonic Lodge since 1942. He retired from Liberty Life Insurance Company in 1977. He had been an active member of First Baptist Church in Greer and a charter member of Northwood Baptist Church in Greer, but he always said that Woods Chapel United Methodist Church of Greer was his home.Mr. Jackson is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, William E. (Bill) Jackson of Hotchkiss, Colorado and Robert S. (Bob) Jackson and his wife Susan Stigberg Jackson of Greenville; five grandchildren, Wendy Jackson of Huntington Beach, California, Jeff Jackson of Leadville, Colorado, Russ Jackson of Columbia, South Carolina, Eric Jackson of Charleston, South Carolina, and David Jackson of Greenville, South Carolina; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Cudd; and many good friends. Mr. Jackson was predeceased by five brothers, Carl, T. D., Joe, Leon, and Lee and one sister, Clara Hendrix.Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Wood Memorial Park, conducted by Dr. Clarence Pittman.
