-> Sophia Mae Parris White, 86, of Savannah, GA., died early Sunday morning, April 10, 2005 at Hospice Savannah in the presence of her son and daughter-in-law. She was born on May 12, 1918 to Zollie and Carrie Cox Parris in Screven County, GA. She was preceded in death by a son, James Parris, brothers, Richard, Sampson, Tom and Dwellie Parris, sisters, Ollie Hickler and Dora Southward. Shortly after moving to Savannah, she owned and operated "Sophia's Beauty Shop" for 14 years. She was a faithful member of Second St. John Missionary Baptist Church until her health failed. She is survived by her two sons, Robert White and John Parris of Savannah, GA; two daughters-in-law, Geneva L. White and Mary Parris both of Savannah, GA; ten grandchildren, Calvin Bryant, James E. Parris, Jr., Cynthia P. Fields, Janis Mitchell, Ronald E. White and Denise Lindsey all of Savannah, Diane Riley of Warner Robins, GA, Audrey P. Cullars of Killeen, TX, Cheryl Parris and Reginald B. White both of Atlanta, GA; 20 great-grandchildren, 20 great-great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. Williams & Williams Funeral Home 1012 E.
