Obituary of Smith-Virginia Carter

SMITH Virginia "Ginny" Carter Smith, age 84, died Saturday, October 2, 2010, at the United Retirement Center in Brookings, SD, after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 28th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 8264 Lone Star Road, Jacksonville, FL. She is survived by her children: Holly (Adair) Watters of Spartanburg, SC; Bill (Becky) Smith of Jacksonville, FL; Joanie (Rick) Holm of Brookings, SD; and Donna (Jeff) Ketchledge of Port Orange, FL; ten grandchildren; sister Alma Dees; and brothers Jack and Alvin Carter. She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband of 60 years; sister Mary; brother Ted; and granddaughter Laurel.
