of the Sisters the Presentation ofthe Blessed Virgin Mary; 77 LEOMINSTER Sister Mary Sharon (Adria) Smith, 77, of the Sisters of the Presentation of the BlessedVirgin Mary, died Wednesday, October 28, 2009, at the Presentation Convent in Leominster.Sister was born in Fitchburg on March 5, 1932, a daughter of the late C. Warren and Ada M. (Lynch) Smith.She entered the Sisters of thePresentation in 1950 and professed her final vows in 1956. Sister Mary Sharon graduated from St. Bernard High School in Fitchburg, received a Bachelor Degree in English fromRegina Coeli College in Fitchburg, and a Master degree in English fromBoston College.She also pursued a career in Guidance at Fitchburg State College and Anna Maria College in Paxton; she studied Theology at Assumption College in Worcester, and St. Michael College in Vermont, and Gerontology at Worcester State College.Sister taught at St. Bernard Elementary, St. Bernard High School and Holy Family High School, all inFitchburg. From 1978 until her retirement in 2008, she was Guidance Director at Notre Dame Academy inWorcester.Besides her Presentation Community, Sister leaves a brother, P. Michael Smith, and a sister, Nancy E. Chalifoux; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She also leaves a close friend,Sister Marie Therese Martin, CSJ.She is predeceased by her parents, three brothers,C. Warren Smith, Robert K. Smith, R. Murray Smith, and a sister, Carol McDonald.SMITH The Funeral will be held on Monday, November 2, 2009 with a Mass at 11:30 a.m. in the Presentation Convent Chapel, 99 Church Street, Leominster. Calling Hours will be at the Convent are on Sunday, November 1, 2009 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 P.M. Burial will be in the St. Bernard Cemetery in Fitchburg.
