TUSCALOOSA Sibyl McGee Smith, age 87, by God's grace, passed away January 10, 2006,. Services will be Thursday, January 12, 2006, at 2:00 p.m. at Heritage Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Gray officiating. Burial will follow in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Heritage Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank N. Smith; parents, Oliver and Nancy McGee; and brothers, Oliver, Jr. and Waylon McGee.She leaves a family that loved her very much: her two children, Jerry Smith and Barbara Clifton; sisters, Lucille Callahan, Maudelle Yarbrough, Sue Hobson, and Sarah "Boots" Ford (Bill); brother, Sam McGee (Charlene); grandchildren, Leigh Ann Morrison (Stan), Leslie Musumecci (Frank) and Ashley Clifton; great-grandchildren, Brandon and Black Rice, Carlie and Cloie Musumecci, Tyler, Anna Kathryn and Trent Morrison.Being a devout Christian she is now with her Lord and her loving husband of over 50 years. She married Frank on May 26, 1939, and they were devoted to each other until his death in 1991. During her life she worked at times and at other times was a caring homemaker bringing up her two children in a Christian home, for which they will be eternally grateful. Sibyl was a long time member of Hopewell Baptist Church and had many friends there. Her family and friends have been blessed to have known her and will miss her deeply.Pallbearers will be Frank Musumecci, Stan and Tyler Morrison, Brandon and Blake Rice and Daniel Tilley.A special thank you to Dr. Steven Copeland, DCH 3rd floor nurses, Dr. Gurich and Dr. Ramdeem, and her special friends that checked on her during her illness.
