Obituary of Shirley-Yvonne Carter

Shirley Yvonne Carter SPARTANBURG, SC-- Funeral services for Shirley Yvonne Carter will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, July 28, 2014 at Miller Swamp Missionary Baptist Church, 204 Miller Swamp Church Road, Fairfax, SC. A native of Fairfax, SC, she was the daughter of Curtis Carter, Jr. and Sarah Loadholt Carter. She joined Miller Swamp Baptist Church at an early age and was a 1971 high school honors graduate. She earned a B. S. Degree in Library Science in 1975 from SCSU. She retired as a librarian from Spartanburg School District Two after thirty-five years of service. She was an avid reader and active member of the SCSU Alumni Association. She is survived by her parents, Curtis and Sarah Carter of Fairfax, SC; a brother, Stanley (Lorraine) Carter of Allendale, SC; a sister, Patricia Ann Carter of Fairfax, SC; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and numerous cousins and friends.
