KING, Shirley Mae Stritter, 73, of Tampa, went to be with the Lord November 16, 2008. A resident since 1957, coming from Schnectady, N.Y., Shirley was a member of Bayshore United Methodist Church, a member of the Eastern Star, and Daughters of the Nile. Shirley retired from the Hillsborough County school system after 25 years of service. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Verna Stritter. Survivors include her husband of 44 years, John B.; son, Mark; daughters, Laurie, Kimberly, Tammy and Wendy; nine grandchildren; and her brother, Bruce Stritter. A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 20, 2008, at Marsicano-B. Marion Reed-Stowers Funeral Home, 4040 Henderson Blvd., with interment to follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Marsicano-B.
