WEBER, Shirley July 10, 1925 - November 3, 2007 Shirley Lillian Weber (nee Johnson) passed away peacefully on November 3, 2007. Shirley was born and raised near Eckville, Alberta and lived in Stettler and Red Deer before settling in Calgary with her husband, Gerald. Shirley trained as a counsellor with the Pastoral Institute as well as the Eidos Centre and worked with Eidos and on her own, as well as volunteering with Alberta Children's Hospital as a counsellor. Shirley was a compassionate advocate for people with Huntington Disease, initiating and leading support groups, fund raising, and when diagnosed, participating in vital research trials. Shirley was predeceased by her husband Gerald, her brothers, Harold Johnson and Victor Johnson. She is survived by her sons, Steven (Linda), Stanley (Dorota Krzywosz), Roy (Ruth), Christopher, and her daughter Diane Tullson (Wayne); Anneliese Weber, mother of Shirley's grandchildren, Christian, Terry, and Nicole; grandchildren, Jay, Drew, Kyle, Shawn, Nathan, Evan, Brendan; great-grandchildren, Kieran, Cory, Hayden; her sisters, Margaret Gilmour and Gladys Hemphill; a large circle of loving nieces, nephews and cousins; and her caregiver and constant companion these last five years, Maria Croft. Funeral Service will be at St. Matthew's United Church (2039 - 26A Street S.W.) on Saturday, November 10, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Clint Mooney officiating. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so one hour prior to the Service. Condolences may be forwarded through www.commemorativeservices.ca .
