KING, SHIRLEY, 80 Silver Springs - Shirley Christopher Lee King, 80, was born to Robert and Mattie Christopher in Brooklyn, NY on June 13, 1926. She graduated from Howard University in 1950 and became a certified social worker in 1958. Mrs. King worked for the New York State Dept of social services as a certified social worker for over thirty years before retiring and relocating to Silver Springs, FL. with her husband James Albert King. Mrs. Shirley King was a member of St. Paul A.M.E. Church in Ocala where she served on the Stewardess Board and was an active member of the Women's Bible Class in church school. Preceding Mrs. King in death were her son Forrest Jay King, Sr. (Feb. 26, 1961-July 27, 1997) and husband, James Albert King (June 23,1922-Feb. 4, 2002). Mrs. King leaves to cherish her memory, daughter and son-in-law Susan Sabrina King-Olive and Alvin Nathaniel Olive; grandson, Forrest Jay King, Jr. and a host of nieces, nephews, great nephews, cousins and special friends. Mrs. Shirley King was an incredible lady, greatly loved and will be sadly missed but forever, indelibly ingrained in our hearts and our memories. Funeral services for Mrs. Shirley King will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2007 at 11AM at St. Paul A.M.E. Church with Pastor Joy Gallmon presiding. Interment Pinelawn Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY. Family will be receiving family and friends at Cunningham's Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 7, 2007 between 5PM and 7PM. Visitation from 9AM-7PM.
