MATSON, Shirley Anne (Nee Smith) In loving memory of Shirley Anne Matson (nee Smith), 59 years of Lively who passed away Sunday evening, February 9th, 2003 at the SRH - Laurentian Site. She was born in Sudbury and married Len Matson in 1965 in Sudbury. A life resident of the Sudbury area. Shirley was a woman of great faith. During her life she had attended various local Lutheran churches where she taught Sunday School and participated in the congregation’s ministries and fellowship. Always quick to help others she was a volunteer at the Regional Cancer Center. She was a very artistic person enjoying crafts, decorating and gardening. Shirley was devoted to her loving family. Beloved wife of Len Matson of Lively. Loving mother of Tony (wife Michele) and Andy (wife Sarah) both of Ottawa and Ron (wife Jody) of Kitchener. Cherished grandmother of Reagen and Shaylee. Dear daughter of Anthony and Florence (Paquette) Smith predeceased. Dear sister of Tony Smith (wife Arlene) of Surrey, BC, Joan Gay (husband Raymond predeceased) of Oshawa, Patricia Venne (husband Floriant) of Sudbury, Margaret Grosser (husband Eric) of Dowling, Gail Mikkola (husband Einard) of Lively, George Smith (wife Denise) of Garson, James Smith (wife Estelle) of Newmarket, Betty O’Hearn (husband Ronald) of Lively, Joyce Dodd’s (husband Donald) of Lively, Sandra Wright of Houston BC, Jennifer Lemega (husband Jim) of Sylvan Lake, Alberta and the late Pauline (1974) and Robert (1994) both predeceased. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Resting at the JACKSON & BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch St., Sudbury. Funeral Service in the R.J. Barnard Chapel, Thursday, February 13th, 2003 at 1 p.m. Cremation at the Parklawn Crematorium. Donations to the Heart & Soul Cancer Services would be appreciated.
