Our father lost his wife and we lost our mother, Shirley Ann Anderson, on January 31, 2011. She was born in Calumet, Michigan, on December 10, 1930, the youngest child of Anthony and Helen (Lambert) Grindatti. Shirley leaves her husband of 61 years, Louis B. Anderson, and her children, Shawn Anderson, Laurie Eagle, Valerie Anderson and Kevin (Teresa) Anderson with a legacy of memories and love. Her five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren have shared many special times with their gramma. Mom was an amazing woman whose life revolved around her husband and family, yet she pursued outside interests as well. She owned and operated Anderson's Fine Gifts in Howell; she painted, loved reading, flower gardens and through genealogy, she enjoyed chronicling the history of both sides of the family for many generations past. Her adventuresome spirit took her on many travels around the world with Dad. We'll always remember her faithful, enduring and caring relationships with cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and acquaintances. Mom was the memory keeper of the family; the glue that kept us all together.Mom, we thought of you today, but that is nothing new, we thought of you yesterday and the days before that too. We think of you in silence, we often speak your name. Now, all we have are memories, and your picture in a frame. Your memory is our keepsake with which we will never part, The Lord has you in his keeping, and we have you in our hearts. If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, we'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.A memorial service is planned for a later date.
