Shawn Kathleen Nathan (nee Murphy) Passed away peacefully surrounded by family and close friends at the age of 54 and after a brief illness on Monday April 7, 2003. Survived by children Jamie, Brent and Drew Nathan; George J. Nathan; sisters Colleen (Keith) Williams and Tricia (Jim) Boychuk; brothers Kevin Murphy and Michael (Pam) Murphy; Aunt Pat McLean; and many cousins, nieces and nephews in the United States and Canada. Shawn has been a source of strength, caring and loving support to all of us. She was greatly respected and admired by all her friends and colleagues. We feel privileged and grateful for the love we shared and she will always be present in our hearts. Shawn is resting at the PATRICK J. DARTE Funeral Home & Chapel, 39 Court St. (at King St.) where her family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, April 9, 2003 between the hours of 7-9 p.m. and on Thursday, April 10, 2003 between the hours of 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Welland Avenue United Church (5 Henry St. corner Welland Ave.) on Friday, April 11, 2003 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances can be made through Patrick J. Darte Funeral Home to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the establishment of the Shawn Nathan Memorial Fund at Grapeview School.
