<!-- FH = Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home --><!-- DisplayFullObituaryText -->SHARON EGBERT JOHNSONDecember 24, 2013Sharon Egbert JohnsonLake Placid, Florida, formerly of Okemos and Fort Myers, FloridaAge 68, mother to 6, wife of 49 years to David, and beloved grandmother of 8, passed away December 24th, 2013. She was born March 27th, 1945 in Detroit, Michigan to Guy and Eileen (Bryan) Egbert. With a sunny disposition, Sherry (Nunu to her grandkids) was the cheerleader for her large family and through decades of raising children, she seized opportunities constantly to make everyday things fun and memorable. Creating special family traditions from simple things (like getting candy bars at the grocery store or saying goodnight to the sun), she realized that it was her unique role & responsibility as the heart of the family to help mold this group of children into unique and loving adults. Her lifelong friends and their children all have special memories of feeling like you were uniquely noticed & celebrated by Sherry . She looked carefully for your special qualities and never let you forget that she could see them in you. With her children & grandchildren, she made a constant habit of reminding them just how unique, wanted, and special she thought they were. Better than any tangible gift, she had the gift of making people feel seen and understood. Devoted to her soulmate & husband, Dave, there was laughter at every turn. When some of those turns meant continual health challenges, Sherry led the family to take news with a positive outlook and looked for ways to have fun with any circumstance. In their recent years, you might have seen the lights at the lake house on at 3am while they sat at the kitchen table together… discussing, planning and laughing. They were each other's very best friend and ally. Always armed with a camera at the lake house, she was aware of just how fleeting special moments can be and captured hundreds of them, creating the same cohesive family bonds for her sweet grandchildren, her nieces, nephews and their children. Mother to Ben, Susan, Cherrah, Kacia & Lincoln. Preceded in death by her son, Nathan. Grandmother "Nunu" to Carson, Karina, Maddox, Cole, Drew, Brody, Molly and Stella; sister to Barbara McWilliams.
